What's going on
"I have watched all the webinars several times except the last one once. Great job of analysis on your part and great delivery."
"Just came in off the water. It was great! Thank you so much. Everything worked smoothly and just the way it should. Still working out how to take max advantage of the spin halyard tackle. The jib sheet systems are awesome!"
Steve Shaw won the 2022 and 2023 Ultimate 20 North American Championships held on San Francisco Bay and Lake Norman, NC respectively in Shapes of Speed prepared U20's. All the current rigging and bottom prep was done at the shop in Mooresville, NC. The sails were designed by Steve Shaw and Bruce Cooper at Ullman Sails Newport Beach. The boats, sails and team combos proved to be undeniable in consecutive years in entirely different venues!
ABOUT US
Over the past 35 years, Shapes of Speed has been in the making from the moment Steve Shaw went for his first sailboat race onboard Milt Ingram's Cal 29 "Class Sea" in the waters off Ventura, CA. It wasn't long before Steve began racing nearly every weekend and even took a job at 16 years old working in the local sail loft. It was when moving to college in Southern California that led Steve to the next level in sailing performance. While collegiately sailing, Steve also worked at Performance Sailing Inc., building/rigging Naples Sabots and Flying Junior sailboats. PSI was located in the same building as Proctor Masts and Ullman Sails which led to Steve taking a tenure at Ullman Sails throughout the 90's. While there, Steve was fortunate enough to sail with US Sailing Hall of Fame member Dave Ullman for a number of years, along the way winning multiple World and National level events.
